The “women’s march against Trump” protest in Melbourne turned out to be exactly what I expected, if not worse, it was a bunch of angry women screaming “racist sexist bigot” at the top of their lungs.
They held signs that epitomized their IQ with slogans like “I’m concerned” and “I’m upset”, it surprised me they couldn’t see their own ironing.

At the start of the day I ran into some stray Texans, donning their Trump gear, strolling through the city excited for the tennis. One of the first things they asked was (Texan accent) “why is there a protest for our president 10000 miles away?” this made me think, why the fuck were they protesting the American president? I saw more political activity for the American election than I did our own Australian one!
As we were chatting a wild protestor appeared, he starts hurling abuse at the Texans and I got to see one of the best calls I have ever heard.
Protestor “go to Chicago and see how long you last with that hat”
The Texan replied without missing a beat “ye well how ‘bout you come down ta Texas and see how long you last!”

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back for the protestor, he lost it and used his special ability “charge”. The police grabbed him and pushed him back into the crowd before he could make contact and asked the Texans to leave.
I listened to most of the speakers and learnt something, no means no and yes means yes. How did I ever get through life before this? But seriously, none of them had any new lines, they parroted the same thing we’ve been hearing about Trump for the last 6 months. Calling him a sexual predator, a rapist and bringing up quotes that have long been dismissed as false.
I wish I could say it felt like a protest and less like a fad, with all the socialist propaganda there it was hard to tell if this was a solidarity movement, or a congregation of people who think Karl Marx is cool.

I saw this guy selling the “Socialist Magazine” for 3 dollars.. what an oxymoron!

All in all, I am glad I attended and got to see the reality of these people. They live in a disillusioned world, which scarily seemed like George Orwell’s 1984.
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
